1. About this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how WARD GROUP REALTY PTY LTD (ABN 35 696 341 134), the operator of Street MBA (“Street MBA”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information.

It applies when you:

  • visit www.streetmba.media;
  • contact Street MBA;
  • receive our communications; or
  • otherwise interact with our services.

2. Our privacy approach

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles to the extent they apply to us.

Where an exemption applies, we nevertheless aim to use substantially similar privacy practices where reasonably practicable.

“Personal information” means information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.

This Policy does not apply to de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify an individual.

3. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of information.

Contact and enquiry information

This may include your name, email address, telephone number, organisation or business details and the content of any enquiry or message you send us.

Communications and marketing information

This may include correspondence with us, marketing preferences and consent records, and engagement information such as whether you open or click links in our communications.

Technical and usage information

This may include:

  • IP address;
  • browser, device and operating-system information;
  • approximate location derived from an IP address;
  • pages viewed and links selected;
  • referring website or campaign;
  • date, time and duration of visits;
  • cookie, pixel and similar identifiers; and
  • diagnostic, error and security logs.

Information about other people

If you give us another person’s information, you must have authority to do so and provide any notice or obtain any consent required by law.

4. How we collect information

We may collect personal information:

  • directly from you, including through our website and forms;
  • from cookies, pixels, logs and similar technologies;
  • from publicly available professional or business sources;
  • from social-media platforms when you interact with us; and
  • where authorised or required by law.

You may browse general public information anonymously. However, we need identifying and contact information to respond to enquiries and requests.

5. Why we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and support requests;
  • publish, operate and improve our website and content;
  • measure website and campaign performance;
  • send marketing where permitted, with a functional unsubscribe method;
  • manage speakers, sponsors and partnerships;
  • maintain records and meet taxation, corporate and legal obligations;
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
  • respond to emergencies or serious safety risks;
  • conduct a business sale, restructure or transfer; and
  • perform another purpose disclosed when the information is collected or authorised by you.

We may create aggregated or de-identified information for statistics and planning. We will take reasonable steps to prevent that information from identifying you.

6. Cookies, analytics and advertising technologies

Our website and providers may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to:

  • provide essential website functions;
  • understand website use;
  • measure campaign performance;
  • prevent fraud; and
  • show or measure relevant advertising where permitted.

Where enabled and lawful, we may use hashed contact identifiers to measure campaigns or create advertising audiences. We do not intentionally use sensitive information for targeted advertising.

Available cookie settings, browser controls and provider opt-out tools can be used to limit optional tracking. Blocking essential technologies may prevent parts of the website from working correctly.

7. When we disclose information

We may disclose personal information to the following recipients where reasonably necessary.

Technology and operational providers

These may include providers of website hosting, cloud storage, email and messaging, analytics, security, customer support and accounting or administration services.

Street MBA personnel

Information may be accessed by authorised personnel and contractors who need it to perform their responsibilities.

Professional advisers

Information may be provided to lawyers, accountants, insurers, auditors and other advisers subject to appropriate professional or confidentiality obligations.

Legal, safety and regulatory recipients

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with law, a court order or lawful government request;
  • investigate suspected fraud or unlawful activity;
  • enforce legal rights;
  • respond to a serious safety threat; or
  • report an incident to a regulator, insurer or law-enforcement body.

Business transactions

Information may be disclosed under appropriate confidentiality protections in connection with a proposed or completed merger, financing, restructure or sale of all or part of the business.

With your consent

We may disclose information for another purpose where you direct or authorise us.

We do not sell or rent personal information for money.

8. Overseas handling

Street MBA uses providers that may store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States and in other countries in which they or their subprocessors operate.

Where the Australian Privacy Principles apply, we will take reasonable steps required by APP 8 before disclosing personal information overseas. These steps may include reviewing provider practices, using contractual protections, limiting the information disclosed and applying appropriate security settings.

Foreign recipients may be subject to laws that differ from Australian privacy law. You may contact us for further information about material overseas providers relevant to your information.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Depending on the information and system, safeguards may include access restrictions, reputable hosting providers, encrypted transmission supported by providers, security logging, software updates, staff and contractor confidentiality obligations, backup controls and incident-response procedures.

No electronic system is completely secure. Do not send complete payment-card information or unnecessary identity documents by ordinary email.

10. Data breaches

We maintain procedures for responding to suspected data breaches.

Where an incident occurs, we will take reasonable steps to contain it, assess the information and people affected, reduce the risk of harm, investigate the cause, improve relevant controls and document the response.

Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme or another notification law applies, we will notify affected individuals and the appropriate regulator when legally required.

11. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, a related lawful purpose or a legal obligation.

Retention depends on:

  • the nature and sensitivity of the information;
  • the length of our relationship with you;
  • record-keeping requirements, including taxation and corporate obligations;
  • dispute and limitation periods;
  • security and fraud-prevention needs; and
  • backup and deletion cycles.

An unsubscribe record may be retained to ensure we continue respecting your marketing choice.

When information is no longer reasonably required, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it, subject to lawful exceptions and ordinary backup rotation.

12. Access, correction and deletion requests

You may ask us to:

  • provide access to personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate or outdated information;
  • delete information where applicable;
  • explain a relevant privacy practice;
  • withdraw consent for an optional activity; or
  • provide information about material overseas handling.

Send requests to hello@streetmba.media.

We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond within a reasonable period and aim to provide a substantive response within 30 days.

We may refuse or limit a request where permitted or required by law, including where access would unreasonably affect another person’s privacy, reveal legally privileged material or require deletion of a record we must retain.

We will not ordinarily charge for making a request.

13. Children

Our website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

If you believe we have unintentionally collected information from a child contrary to this Policy, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

14. Third-party services and links

Our website may link to third-party websites, social platforms or services. Those third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review them before providing personal information.

Street MBA is not responsible for an independent third party’s privacy practices merely because its website or service is linked. We remain responsible for our own selection and use of providers to the extent required by law.

15. Privacy complaints

If you believe we have mishandled personal information, contact:

hello@streetmba.media

Please provide your name and contact details, a description of the issue, relevant dates, any supporting information and the outcome you are seeking.

We will acknowledge and investigate the complaint and aim to provide a substantive response within 30 days.

If the Privacy Act applies and you remain dissatisfied after giving us a reasonable opportunity to respond, you may be entitled to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner through www.oaic.gov.au.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when our practices, providers, technology or legal obligations change.

The updated Policy will be published on our website with a revised effective date. We will provide additional notice where a change is material or where law requires consent.
